Further Info:
The 3.5-litre V8-engined Rover P5B was the car of choice for many members of the British Government in period, the Coupe version of which is especially sought after by collectors today. This very tidy-looking automatic example is finished in Grey over Maroon and trimmed in Cream leather. A three-owner car, it first belonged to a Yorkshire miller. Title then passed to a Huddersfield garage proprietor who kept it in his showroom for a number of years. The most recent keeper persuaded it from him in 1980, and retained it for the ensuing 35 years. The history file suggests the indicated 49,278 miles is genuine and the vendor describes the Rover's condition as `above average' and notes `the underside is remarkably sound and commensurate with such mileage'. `NCX 577M' comes complete with the original driver's handbook and `Passport to Service' book containing nine stamps, many old MOTs, and a letter from the previous owner.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
