First of the Pagoda line, the Paul Bracq-styled 230SL was introduced at the March 1963 Geneva Salon. Road registered as 'MCH 735D' on 24th March 1966, this particular RHD, UK supplied example has been in the current ownership on and off for the past twenty years or so (the vendor selling it to friends from time to time to raise funds for new business ventures). Upgraded with a slightly later Mercedes-Benz 2.5 litre (129.980) straight-six engine at some stage, the Pagoda features four-speed automatic transmission and is understood to have benefited from much recent expenditure totalling tens of thousands of pounds. As well as being repainted by Malin Motor Bodies of Sheffield, the two-seater has been treated to a re-trim and sundry mechanical fettling. Sporting a red soft-top and black hardtop, this handsome 230SL is offered for sale with history file and current MOT certificate.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
