Lot details Registration No: MPH 926 Chassis No: 22556 Mot Expiry: Exempt
The TA14 was Alvis's first post-WW2 offering and was sold from 1946 to 1950. It had a top speed of around 74mph and could attain 60mph in just over 22 seconds. Some 3,311 saloon and drophead coupe examples are said to have been produced during those four years of production. `MPH 926' (`Milo' to the vendor and his wife!) is a 1947 right-hand drive TA14 Carbodies Drophead Coupe that's finished in Brown and Cream inside and out. Prior to the vendor's acquisition in 2010, it had spent 39 years in Northern Ireland. And, for the last few of those it was confined to dry storage, so required a considerable level of both mechanical and electrical repair before returning to the roads once more. The vendor now describes the four-speed manual transmission and interior trim as `good' and the bodywork and 1892cc four-cylinder engine as `fair/good'. The odometer currently stands at an unwarranted 24,936 miles.
