Lot details Registration No: JFC386N Chassis No: A181342 Mot Expiry: Feb 2006
This Lotus Seven, originally an S4 model first manufactured and registered for the road in 1975, received a refurbished chassis in 1995 - the S4 correct steel frame supplied by Arch Motors, who were the original manufacturers for Lotus. Previous to the chassis change, the Ford four-cylinder engine was rebored and fitted with new pistons and bearings, the capacity reportedly now being 1650cc. The period alloy wheels are said to be the originals by Cosmic. Overall mechanical and cosmetic condition is described by the vendor as being good, with black interior good, but the paintwork also in black reportedly only fair.
We are advised that the car will be currently taxed and MOTd on sale day and that the documents file, which may be inspected during viewing at the Stoneleigh auction venue and which is likely to contain 17 previous MOT certificates authenticating annual mileage readings, will also include well over £7000 worth of receipts detailing work carried out and parts bought. Also included with this classic Lotus are top, side screens and tonneau. Potentially enormous fun, potentially highly affordable and therefore also good value.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
