MOT: None
Introduced in 2000, the Navigator was a new model by the Italian marque Cagiva which appealingly combined sports and touring qualities through its use of a detuned Suzuki superbike engine and a comfortable, robust steel trellis frame with wide handlebars. The motor was the 996cc Suzuki TL1000 V-twin, but with milder cams and revised ignition and exhausts resulting in output just below 100bhp. MCN was full of praise, describing it as “a sportsbike with wide bars, a super supermoto if you like. The comfort and tank range make the Navigator a great cross-country motorcycle and the ex-superbike motor takes the performance way beyond the reach of its competitors.”
This rare early Navigator from 2000 is offered as a straightforward recommissioning project, having been in dry storage since 2016. Said to be complete except for the battery, it appears as a presentable example with some age-related patina, though bidders should note that one side panel is cracked. Features include Renthal handlebars, a Power Commander module, heated handlebar grips and K&N parts. Displaying some 46,644km (28,983 miles), it is offered with the current V5C. Please note it has been recorded as a Category D Insurance Loss (Vehicle Damaged But Repairable—Insurer Decided Not To Repair).
