Lot details Registration No: EMB208B Chassis No: 1A6001BW Mot Expiry: May 2015
Launched in 1962, the Daimler V8-250 shared its 2548cc 'hemi' engine with the SP250 'Dart' sportscar. Visually distinguished from its Jaguar MKII siblings by a fluted grille and more luxurious interior, the model had an air of exclusivity. Supplied new by Arthur Royale Ltd of Alderley Edge, Cheshire to Mrs Earnshaw of nearby Wilmslow, 'EMB 208B' was to remain with her until being acquired by the vendor (a former Arthur Royale employee) in 1977. Dry stored from 1977 to 2005, the Daimler was treated to a thorough brake system overhaul as part of its recommissioning but otherwise required little work. Never allowed to deteriorate to the point of needing restoration, this remarkable V8-250 is warranted to have covered just 16,000 miles from new. A 'matching numbers' car equipped with automatic transmission, 'EMB 208B' is accompanied by its original service book, handbook, dealer network book, period maintenance poster and MOT certificate valid until May 2015.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
