This 1963-built Mini was originally a standard Cooper, which was converted in 1997 to a historic road rally car by the previous owner who drove it on six events. Acquired by the vendor in September 1999, it has been used on 13 events. The best results were first overall on the Solway Historic Rally in 2000 and fourth overall with a class win on the Durham Dales in the same year, while strong finishes were achieved on a further seven events in the period 2001-2003.
The specification includes full trim (to be compliant with road rally regulations), a Safety Devices rear roll cage, full harnesses, fly-off handbrake, 'works' style dash, map light, fluorescent interior light and digital stopwatch. Outside of the cockpit, there is a sumpguard, fire extinguisher, twin electric pumps, two fuel tanks, Minilite alloys shod with Yokohama A008s, Spax adjustable dampers, negative camber bottom arms, Stage 2 cylinder head, 'Fast Road' spec camshaft, oil cooler, Cibie headlights, and Lucas foglamps and reversing light. Additionally, the car was apparently rewired in 1997. On file are many invoices, MOTs and the original purchase invoice.
