The Bentley Brooklands was introduced in 1992 as a replacement for the Bentley Mulsanne and Bentley Eight models. It was intended as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Bentley Turbo R featuring the same styling, and underpinnings of the Rolls-Royce 6.75 litre, V8 engine but without the more powerful model's turbocharger. The Brooklands continued Bentley's design theme which was also used on contemporary Rolls-Royce vehicles throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. The exterior design featured the classic Bentley grill as well as dual headlights with wrap-around parking lights. As with many Bentley and Rolls-Royce vehicles, the Brooklands also featured the trademark descending boot lid and chrome B-pillars. The interior remained relatively unchanged from previous Bentley models but with a more curvaceous design element surrounding the leather-wrapped centre console.
The Bentley Brooklands offered here, was first registered on the 14th of June 1996 and delivered by Bentley main dealer Hadley Green Garage to its first owner, who kept the car until July 1998. The Brooklands was ordered in Wildberry Mica paintwork with Sandstone Fine Lines and an interior finished in Sandstone hides with Wildberry piping and matching Wilton carpets. In July 1998 the Bentley was acquired by the current vendor’s late husband and has stayed with the family to this day. Initially, the car was serviced by Hadley Green Garage after which Bentley Pangbourne was entrusted with maintaining the Bentley to the highest standards. The most recent service in 2022 saw Rolls-Royce & Bentley Specialist Michael Hibberd take over the care of the car. According to the late owner’s widow, the car is, in her own words: 'virtually flawless'. The paintwork is still lustrous and blemish-free, the Connolly leather interior is like new and all the woodwork is as it left the factory. The toolkit and spare wheel have never been used and all keys are present, including the wheel lock keys. Even the rear remote control for the radio is still in its pouch. The service booklet is fully stamped and there's a sheaf of invoices from Hadley Green Garage, Bentley Pangbourne and Michael Hibberd together with old MOTs dating back to 2000, attesting to the lavish care that has been spent on this Bentley. The car is freshly serviced and comes with a large history file, meticulously detailing the work done on the car since new, its full and original toolkit, two sets of keys, a cover and a current V5C.
