Lot details Registration No: TOY 18 (See Text) Chassis No: ALC1 Mot Expiry: Exempt
The vendor first saw ALC1, aged 14, at the 1957 Motor Show. Upon being told "not to touch it" by the salesman he replied that he would own it one day - a promise he made good in 1971! A four-door six-light limousine with division, the car carries striking coachwork by Freestone & Webb (Body no. 1826, Design no. 3191) and appears in Lawrence Dalton's The Elegance Continues. First registered on 22nd November 1957, it is understood to have been first owned by Zsa Zsa Gabor before passing to Bernard Walsh of Wheelers Restaurants. At this time it carried the registration number YUS 712. The vendor re-registered it as TOY 18 but whilst this appears on the old logbook it is not confirmed whether this is still attached to the car. Following fire damage to the rear over twenty years ago it has been kept in long term storage and is offered for restoration strictly as viewed with VE60 logbook, assorted photographs, correspondence, invoices and old MoTs.
PLEASE NOTE: The registration 'TOY 18' would appear to no longer be attached to this vehicle according to DVLA records.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
