Lot details Registration No: HFR 91W Chassis No: GVADJ1AG522774 Mot Expiry: April 2006
The monocoque-construction MGB with large 1.8-litre engine replaced the separate chassis 1622cc MGA in September 1962 and GT fixed head joined the open B from 1965.
This 1981 MGB, an LE ‘Limited Edition’ roadster, is one the last 500 built. According to the entrant, the right-hand drive sports is totally immaculate, both inside and out with both underbonnet area and boot well presented. Wax-oiled, it comes with a soft top, said still to be as new, as well as hood cover and tonneau.
The two-door bodyshell is reportedly in very good shape with the panels unmarked, the bronze paintwork immaculate, the alloys wheels very good and the black vinyl interior as new, whilst the 1798cc four-cylinder engine, the four-speed manual gearbox, which has the benefit of overdrive, as well as the electrical equipment are all said also to be in very good order.
When entered, there were 61,658 miles displayed on the odometer and this figure is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for HFR 91W from new. An MOT test has been freshly passed, so the latest certificate will be current until March of next year.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
