According to its accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, chassis 1E21401 was originally finished in Opalescent Silver Blue with Dark Blue leather upholstery and supplied new via Arnold Clark of Glasgow to Jack McKellan of Uddingston. The subject of an extensive restoration by a previous keeper prior to entering the current ownership via CMC of Bridgnorth in December 2004, the Jaguar was nonetheless treated to sundry paintwork improvements and a partial re-trim as part of the agreed purchase price. Returning to the renowned marque specialist the following year for attention to its clutch (£846), the E-type has since been worked on by WATJAG (new steering rack mounts, refurbished brake callipers, replacement half shaft UJs, new heater / screen wash motors - £3,314.12), Butlin & Sons Classic Cars of Swadlincote (minor fettling, servicing - £685.61) and Shentons Garage Ltd of Ashbourne (servicing and MOT testing). Described by the vendor as being in 'good overall' condition with regard to its 4.2 litre engine, four-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, bodywork, paintwork and interior trim, 'JVA 646D' is offered for sale with history file and MOT certificate valid until November 2015.
