Further Info:
The MK I Capri on offer today is a 2000 GT XLR version with automatic transmission that was first registered, in Surrey, on March 17th 1970. The accompanying V5C Registration Document shows four former keepers one of whom is understood to have been a dealer. Of the other three the last but one gentleman owned the car for 14 years while his predecessor had it for some 15 years. In an effort to confirm the ownership history the vendor has applied for a history trace from the DVLA which will be passed on to the purchaser when available. Considering the apparently low ownership of the car it is entirely possible that the speedometer reading of just 52,157 could be correct (though, it is not warranted). However, the history file does contain a large number of old MOT certificates going back to 1995 when the mileage quoted was 45,126. Futhermore the vendor informs us that the car 'certainly drives like a low mileage example'. The Capri has the correct front spot lights, wing mirrors, locking petrol cap and period radio. With a current MOT, that expires on September 23rd 2016, the car is ready to enjoy.
