The design of the 916 is credited to Massimo Tamburini and is regarded as one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever built. Ducati announced the limited edition Senna for the 1995 season, the profits from which would go to the Senna Foundation. The Senna featured a special black and grey livery with red wheels. The engine remained in the standard "Strada" specification, although Pankl con rods were used housed in a "SP" specification chassis with Ohlin's rear suspension, an alloy rear subframe, single seat, cast iron floating front discs, adjustable clutch and brake levers and carbon fibre front mudguard, heat shield, clutch cover and chainguard. A second series of "Senna's" was produced for the 1997 followed by a further run of machines for the 1998 season, with a black colour scheme and carbon fibre airbox.
The machine offered is number 167 of the third series dating from 1998 and has had only two former owners. Described as being in very good condition in all respects it displays only 20,741 miles on the odometer and is offered with a Swansea V5C and a Mot certificate valid until the 15th April 2015.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
