In 1967, the original Spider (Duetto) was replaced by the 1750 (1779cc) Spider Veloce. The Series 2 Spider arrived in 1970 - the rounded tail now replaced with a distinctive `Kamm' design and a year later engine capacity was increased to 1962cc, prompting the name to be changed to 2000 Spider Veloce. With 131bhp on tap, this version was capable of over 120mph. The Series 3 broke cover in 1982 with electronic fuel injection replacing the SPICA mechanical variety. 1983 heralded a major styling revamp that included rubber tipped bumpers and a rubber rear spoiler whilst the interior featured a new centre console and revised facia.

This Spider was manufactured in 1989 and was first registered in the United Kingdom on the 9th of May 1989. Fitted with the 1994cc twin-cam straight-four engine with a five-speed transmission, the Alfa Romeo is finished in ‘Blu Medio’ metallic paintwork with Tan leather interior upholstery. ‘F974 RYP’ has a recorded mileage of 105,226 kilometers (at time of consignment), which equates to approximately 65,000 miles and has had six former keepers, entering into the current, long-term ownership, in 1996. Benefitting from rear brake fettling in September 2021, the Alfa Romeo has been serviced annually throughout the vendor's custodianship. Accompanied for sale by a large quantity of past MOTs dating back to 1996, book pack, several invoices and a current V5C.
