Lot details Registration No: XDK876T Chassis No: JAALA3CC303832 Mot Expiry: None
Considered by many to be the definitive sports car of the 1930s, the SS Jaguar 100 was typical of William Lyons ability to design voluptuous and charismatic body styles which captured the imagination of the sporting motorist. However, with a good original SS100 Jaguar fetching between £120,000 and £250,000 at auction these days, many 'evocations' have been designed to give the style and flavour of SS100 motoring at a fraction of the cost.
Finished in red with cream leather upholstery, this particular homage to the immortal SS100 is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, automatic transmission, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres. Reportedly based on a 1979 Jaguar XJ6 and built to a high standard, 'XDK 876T' is powered by a 3.4 litre straight-six DOHC engine allied to automatic transmission. Nicely detailed, it sports a wooden dashboard, large-diameter chrome headlamps, wire wheels and twin-blade bumpers. Further benefiting from power assisted steering, high-backed seats and disc brakes, it promises to be somewhat more comfortable and relaxing to drive than a real SS100. Just the sort of thing with which to attract envious stares on a fine summer's day, this convincing evocation is offered for sale with "lots of MOTs" including one valid until next year.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
