The Pavilion Gardens

  Lot 11

1963 Morris Mini Van

Estimated at £10,000 - £12,000

Lot details
Registration No: ALC821A
Chassis No: MAV4449297
Mot Expiry: June 2015

Arguably the Mini Van equivalent of a stealth fighter, 'ALC 821A' is finished in an immaculate shade of Dark Grey and rides on Black alloy wheels shrouded by muscular arches. The body shell has been fully restored with British Motor Heritage replacement panels, and the original A-Series engine supplanted by a much more modern 185bhp K-Series unit, courtesy of Watsons Rally, Wakefield. The four-speed manual transmission with which the van was born has been ousted in favour of a more modern five-speed one. What has been created is a unique classic vehicle equipped with contemporary mechanicals and eye-catching appearance. The Mini has travelled just 100 miles since all the work was completed, so the vendor unsurprisingly currently classes the bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, engine and transmission as 'excellent' and says, though it is blessed with 'amazing power', it is still a 'good daily driver'. It is MOT'd into June 2015.
