Lot details Registration No: YUG 44 Chassis No: HD1/13/22609 Mot Expiry: None
Launched at the 1955 Frankfurt Motorshow, the MGA featured a separate chassis penned by Roy Brocklehurst and was powered by a 1489cc version of BMC's B-Series engine.
This beautifully-presented home market 1957 MGA features rare Tyrolite Green paintwork teamed with Black upholstery. The original owner, an MG enthusiast, retained the MG for 44 years. On his death, the title passed to his niece who also cherished the motorcar until recently selling it to fund a business venture. A wealth of invoices and photographs attest to a major restoration in the mid-1990s. In the last few months, County Classics of Cheltenham have invested a further £6,000 in an extensive refurbishment programme that included a cosmetic body repspray, repainting and rust proofing of the car's underside, and the replacement of the following: tyres and inner tubes; batteries; sender unit; number plates; rear bumper and over-riders; headlamp trims; front wing grilles; all wing piping; boot carpet; boot-lid seal etc. Minor repairs and adjustments were carried out along the way and 'YUG 44' treated to a thorough service. The garage now regards the car's condition as "excellent overall" and is selling it complete with: numerous bills, receipts and photos; original owner's and tune-up manuals; parts catalogue; Heritage Certificate; spare key etc. A rare opportunity.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
