Lot details Registration No: LUM830V Chassis No: GAECWU154360 Mot Expiry: April 2005
This purposeful special sports was conceived by Alan Beaumont of Beaumont Engineering. The right-hand drive open two seater - which re-enacts both the appearance and the concept of Colin Chapman's legendary Lotus Seven classic - was one of just six of these Albo Sevens made in Batley, West Yorkshire, each one with the final specification and choice of engine tailored to the individual customer's order, this particular car being the third built. Most of the mechanical components were sourced from the Ford Motor Company parts bin, such as the live rear axle, this one having Capri running gear and the excellent and very user-friendly Sierra five-speed gearbox.
The current condition of the chassis is described by the entrant as good with the all-aluminium bodywork, superior to so many of the competitors with their cheaper GRP-panels, said to be in good shape and the black and red interior also good. The 1993cc four-cylinder motor, the transmission and the electrical equipment are reportedly also in good order. When entered for this sale, the mileage displayed was 14,000 which is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total for the vehicle from new.
PLEASE NOTE: The mileage showing on this vehicle is 5000 and not 14000 as previously stated and is not believed to be genuine from new.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
