Lot details Registration No: 7448 HJ Chassis No: GHN36543 Mot Expiry: Jan 2015
Converted and raced by Rae Davis (then of Moto Build Ltd) during the mid/late-1980s, `7448 HJ' achieved some memorable results including a first at Macau. A genuine 1963 narrow tunnel car, it was used for several Manx Classics by next keeper Leslie Phillips and briefly belonged to veteran MGB campaigner Barry Sidery-Smith before entering the current ownership on 31st July 1999. Built by Oselli to Stage 3a specification, its current 1950cc engine was fitted in 2006. Treated to a new crown wheel and pinion, hi-torque starter motor, roll cage, rear wheel bearings and fire extinguishers some three years later, `7448 HJ' gained a reconditioned overdrive unit and engine refresh (45mm inlet valves, full race camshaft, baffled sump etc) during 2010. Last raced in the 2011 MGCC Peter Best Insurance Challenge, `7448 HJ' underwent some cosmetic fettling the following year and passed its last MOT test on 28th January 2014 with no advisories.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
