Lot details Registration No: 15 KYY Chassis No: W158 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Apparently one of the last HRG's to sport R.E.A.L. coachwork, '15 KYY' has been in its current ownership since the mid-1980s, but has remained unused for the last 3-4 years. Though the chassis was completed in March 1948, the finished car was not delivered to its first owner, a Mr Charles C Langer of Kent, until December of that year. Originally registered 'LKJ 998', the HRG had a sojourn in America during the 1970s, where it was owned by a Rabbi Gumbiner of California, and it was on returning to the UK the following decade that it acquired its current registration. We are informed that it was the next keeper, Sir John Elstub, who had the body colour changed from its original Red to the current Green, and added the chrome headlamp supports for aesthetic reasons. The contrasting interior features Red seats and door trim, and Black carpets.
PLEASE NOTE: The chassis was completed in March 1948 and delivered to its first owner in December 1948 and not 1947 as stated in the catalogue.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle does not have a V5 Registration Document, the successful purchaser will need to apply for one in order to register it in their name.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
