Lot 29 (Imperial War Museum Duxford, 14th October 2015)
Signed by the sculptor, beautiful patinated natural bronze finish, pure Art Deco styling, the larger and rarest of the two sizes produced, 8¼in long, mounted on a period turned wooden display base. The nicest example of this rare mascot we have encountered.
See Dan Smith: 'Accessory Mascots' page 133 and 136, which shows original French mascot catalogues, listing the 'Lion' par Brau, grande modéle at 400 French Francs. At the time it was the most expensive metal mascot available.
