A Skegness 'Is SO Bracing!' advertising car mascot, British 1930s, nickel plated figure of the Jolly Fisherman by John Hassall, 3in high, The Jolly Fisherman, drawn by John Hassall in 1908, and the accompanying slogan is probably the most famous and successful holiday advertising campaign ever run in the UK. It has been circulated hundreds of times in almost every newspaper in the United Kingdom. The original drawing was commissioned by the Great Northern Railway Company to advertise daily excursions from Kings Cross Station that ran from 1908 to 1913.
