Lot details Registration No: YJ 2474 Chassis No: 533370 Mot Expiry: Aug 2004
In the inter-war years, Hudson became one of the most popular American marques in the UK. This righthand drive Hudson Big Six sedan was assembled at Ealing in 1935 and is the only survivor of this model known to the Railton Club (Railtons had Hudson chassis). During the last two years and following preservation in storage for five years, YJ 2474 has successfully transported the current owner on Continental trips.
Saloon body and maroon paintwork are described as being good to fair and buff cloth trim, replaced in 1993, as good. Both 3.5-litre 6-cylinder motor and 3-speed manual gearbox are reportedly in good order.
The 92,275 mileage displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total for the car from new. The documents file contains logbook history from 1954, from which it would suggest that there have been a total of four previous owners. The present MOT will be current until August and the historic vehicle duty exempt tax disc will not need renewing until July.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
