This machine started life as a police bike in service with the Cornwall Constabulary. During 1985 the then owner commissioned its restoration specifying that it be rebuilt as a café racer.
During the restoration the wheels were rebuilt using Akront alloy wheel rims and stainless steel spokes with new tyres being fitted. A central alloy oil tank is complimented by an alloy racing style fuel tank, alloy front mudguard, half shrouded shock absorbers and a chrome headlamp. Clip-ons and rear-sets ensure that the required "racing crouch" is painfully attainable and the "Goldie silencers" preclude any possibility of hearing the siren until it is too late!
The machine was not used after being restored, residing in the owner's front room as a display item. In 2006 the magneto was rebuilt with a view to use, although this did not occur and the machine will require the ignition timing and items such as the fuel and oil lines replacing prior to use.
It is offered with an old log book.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
