Lot details Registration No: LPM 949 Chassis No: LB290/1/255 Mot Expiry: May 2005
This 1956-made Lagonda - a late entered righthand drive LB 290/1 with sports saloon coachwork crafted by Tickford - was driven by the last owner for twenty-four years. Chassis, four-door bodywork and two-tone green paintwork condition are described as excellent, and whilst the carpets have been renewed, the cream leather interior is said still to be original.
Both 3-litre six-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox as well as electrical equipment are reportedly in excellent order, the former benefiting from a decoke with renewal of pistons, rings, conrods and bearings. The brakes have reportedly been overhauled, too, with servo, master cylinder and wheel cylinder renewed. The steering has also been overhauled and both wiring loom and wiper motor replaced, whilst a solid-state fuel pump has been employed as has electronic ignition. The original radio survives.
On file are an original buff logbook, a current V5 and an MOT certificate which will be valid until May 2005.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
