Two-Door Saloon and Tourer versions of the Minor were unveiled in 1948. The Four-Door Saloon followed in 1950 and the popular Traveller, Van and Pick-up variants completed the range two years later. The first iteration, the MM, was produced from 1948 to 1953. Power came from a 918cc straight-four, sidevalve engine producing 27.5bhp. With the Series II of 1952, came the Austin-designed `A' Series 803cc OHV unit. In its current ownership since 2008, the splendid-looking `split screen' Series II Traveller offered is a 1955 example presented in Grey and trimmed in Red. It is equipped with a 948cc engine in place of the original 803cc one, plus period screen shade and tow hook and has clearly had time and money invested on it in recent years. Indeed, `CSO 458' comes complete with invoices from 2008 totalling over £11,000, plus a V5C and a pair of old MOTs. A rare opportunity.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
