Extremely rare Raleigh cycles advertising lightbox dating from the late 1930s/early 1940s. Metal case, with glass and mirrors to display the image when lit. Measures: 46cm wide x 26cm high x 26cm deep. Good original working condition, save for a crack to the internal mirror, that does not detract from the aesthetics of the piece, when illuminated. The basis for Raleigh was established in 1885 by Woodhead and Angois who used the Raleigh brand name. The company was acquired in 1888 by Frank Bowden and became the Raleigh Cycle Company in 1889. By 1913 it was the worlds' largest bicycle manufacturer.
