Lot details Registration No: OWA315E Chassis No: GHN3/106731 Mot Expiry: Feb 2005
This MGB, which first drove off the MG Car Company's Abingdon factory production line in 1967, has only had two owners during the last sixteen years. Presented in said to be good Tartan Red with alloy bonnet, and with interior trimmed in black leather piped in red and matching hood and tonneau cover, the open sports was apparently fully restored in the late 1980s since when it has been used sparingly.
It is claimed by the entrant to have been in recent receipt of a full service. The wire wheels have been rebuilt, the rear springs renewed and the brakes overhauled. The 4-speed gearbox, which has the benefit of a working overdrive on this car, is said to be in very good order as is the 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine.
Both MOT and tax disc are valid until next February, so this, the most popular of all of the British classics can be instantly enjoyed for the rest of the summer by a successful bidder here today. Chrome-bumpered MGBs, like this, also hold their value well.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
