Lot details Registration No: 804 KGE Chassis No: LB/290/1/121 Mot Expiry: July 2013
For 1953 the engine of what had been the Lagonda 2.6 was increased in capacity and the resulting '3 Litre' model range comprised Fixed-Head and Drophead Coupes and a striking four-door Saloon. A total of just 270
3 Litre Lagondas were manufactured.
This rare 3 Litre Tickford-bodied Saloon was first registered to a William McGregor of Ardrossan, Ayrshire in March 1956, who retained it until 1968. The engine was reportedly overhauled by the Aston Workshop in 2001 prior to the car's purchase by the previous owner. He then proceeded to carry out a programme of mechanical refurbishment that included the braking and hydraulic jacking systems, wheels etc. He also replaced the carpets. Having apparently remained on the West coast of Scotland from new, '804 KGE' then moved to Berkshire when acquired by the vendor in December 2010. He last year had the door panels re-coloured and the engine/carburettors tuned, and currently regards the Claret-coloured interior trim, engine and manual transmission as "excellent", the alloy bodywork as "very good" and the Black paintwork as "good" (though a degree of micro-blistering is apparent). He is now selling the Lagonda complete with buff logbook, Lagonda Club technical information manual, assorted bills, old tax discs and MOTs, plus one current until July 2013.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
