Lot details Registration No: Un-Reg Frame No: T.B.A. Engine No: T.B.A. cc: 125 MOT Expiry Date: None
According to information supplied to the vendor by Dr Ehrlich upon purchase, this particular machine combines a 1953 EMC chassis frame with a similar period Puch 125cc engine. Assumed to pre-date the good doctor's employment with car manufacturer Austin which began later that year, it is therefore thought to be among the last of the 'first phase' (1946-1953) Ehrlich Motor Company bikes built.
Despite the presence of its aerodynamic fairing, it is unknown whether this EMC-Puch 125 ever took to the track. Although, Puch-engined EMCs did manage a measure of success in the 1952 and 1955 Isle of Man 125cc Lightweight TT races, Messrs LJBR French and RJ Penny coming home eleventh and twelfth in the earlier event, while FH Burman managed seventh overall in the latter.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
