Lot details Registration No: TSV 417 Chassis No: S824316DN Mot Expiry: April 2006
Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Trace Certificate and factory issued Vehicle Information Sheet on file confirm that Jaguar XK 150 chassis number S 824316 DN was made at the Browns Lane works 19 March 1958, the right-hand drive fixed head coupe in cream with red trim and 3.4-litre engine number V 3311 8 despatched 27 March to original dealer Henlys of London. It is presumed, subsequently, to have spent some time overseas as re-registration in the UK took place in 1985.
At some time, too, the S cylinder head and triple carburettors have been replaced with standard XK head and carbs, though the 3.4 motor was completely rebuilt and converted to accommodate lead-free petrol by marque specialists Broads at a cost of over £6000 in 2003, there being receipts and photos among the paperwork recording the work carried out.
Again during 2004, the car was back with Broads for some new leaf springs, driveshafts and Kenlow fan, there being a further £3000 plus worth of receipts in the documents file. The 16ins diameter chrome wires are new and were shod with Dunlop Road Speeds only last year.
The owner declares that a new speedo was fitted by Broads in 2003 and therefore the cumulative mileage for the car had risen when entered to 65,233, which he believes to be the genuine total. Ten year's worth of old MOTs have been retained with the MOT test only freshly passed, the current certificate valid until April of next year. Clearly working well, this XK has only recently completed a trouble-free Welsh run.
