The Twenty-one, or 3TA, marked a significant step in the evolution of the Triumph twin, introducing unit construction to the range. The new engine followed established Triumph design practices except for the use of a distributor mounted on top of the crankcases behind the cylinders. Although the use of unit construction was of greater significance in the long term, it was the models styling that created the most interest at the time of its release. The machine was equipped with a fully valanced front mudguard complimented by a rear enclosure that was quickly dubbed the "bathtub".
This early example with matching numbers was restored over the course of several years, finally being completed in 2004. Described as being in very good condition in all respects and retaining its original registration number it is offered with an MOT certificate valid until the 19th June 2007 and a road fund licence that expires at the end of May 2007.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
