1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

Lot details
Registration No: T.B.A.
Chassis No: WF0ZZZ99ZR9331872
Mot Expiry: Feb 2019

- 1 of just 202 UK-supplied 993 Carrera Cabriolets to feature the pre-Varioram engine and six-speed manual transmission

- Unusual and attractive Purple with Grey leather upholstery livery plus a vented rear spoiler and striking five-spoke alloy wheels

- Accompanied by a 'huge service history with most MOT certificates and dealer stamps' plus a MOT certificate valid until February 2019

Notable as Porsche's last air-cooled 911 range, the 993-series was introduced in September 1993. A quantifiable improvement in terms of handling, ride quality and refinement, the newcomer featured a monocoque bodyshell that was some twenty percent stiffer than that of the outgoing 964-series plus more planted multi-link rear suspension. Further benefiting from power-assisted rack and pinion steering and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, the 993 was powered by a reworked 3.6 litre flat-six engine allied to six-speed manual or semi-automatic Tiptronic transmission. With some 272bhp and 243lbft of torque on tap, it was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds and 167mph. Debuting in March 1994, the Cabriolet version boasted a specially reinforced windscreen and snug electrically-operated canvas hood. For many the last 'true' 911, the 993 made way for the water-cooled 996 in 1998.

Finished in Purple with Grey leather upholstery, this particular example is understood to be 1 of just 202 UK-supplied 993 Carrera Cabriolets to feature the pre-Varioram engine and six-speed manual transmission. Understood to have covered some 96,500 miles from new, the Porsche boasts a 'huge service history with most MOT certificates and dealer stamps'. Unusually and attractively liveried, it is variously described by the vendor as being in 'very good' (paintwork, interior trim) or 'excellent' (engine, bodywork, electrical equipment, gearbox) condition. Sporting a vented rear spoiler and striking five-spoke alloy wheels, this increasingly collectible 993 Carrera Cabriolet is offered for sale with UK V5C registration Document, history file and MOT certificate valid until February 2019. The cherished registration is being retained.
