Estimate: £2,000 - £3,000

Motor Car Location: Cheshire

  • Presented in Cypress Green with contrasting Beige leather interior
  • Benefits from 4 wheel steering, cruise control, air conditioning and more
  • In current ownership for the last 19 years and now showing 86,374 miles on the odometer

The Honda Prelude was produced by Honda from 1978 until 2001, being loosely derived from the Accord, and spanned a total of five generations. Introduced on the 7th November 1996, the fifth generation Prelude retained an FF layout with an independent front suspension and 63/37 weight distribution. Most fifth-generation Honda Preludes came with 16-inch (410 mm) aluminium alloy wheels with all-season 205/50 R16 87V tires, featured the 11.1" front brakes like the '96 VTEC model, and most Preludes also received a five-lug hub (not the four-lug wheel hub of older models).

First registered on 30 January 1998 and presented in Cypress Green with Beige leather interior, 'R97 CNE' is a rare automatic example and benefits from factory optional extras including 4 wheel steering, cruise control, air conditioning, ABS, SRS and more. This particular Prelude was exported to the Isle of Man in July 2002 and shortly after purchased by its current owner, also living there, in February the following year. Following the sale of their residence in October of 2015, the car was once more re-registered in the UK. Recently benefiting from a new timing belt in September 2021 and a new battery in February 2021, the odometer now displays just 86,374 miles. 'R97 CNE' is now offered to the market for the first time in some 19 years.

Accompanied with the vehicle is its original bookpack including service booklet stamped until full, a number of invoices and receipts for services thereafter, as well as a large collection of previous MOTs, the Isle of Man registration document and the UK V5C document which shows just one former keeper. The car comes with 2 keys and the vendor rates the condition of the bodywork, engine, electrical equipment, paintwork, transmission and interior trim as ‘Very Good’.
