Lot details Registration No: C38 ORR Chassis No: SAJJCALO3CC450825 Mot Expiry: Sept 2005
The longest running Jaguar model was the 1968-launched XJ6, powered initially by the already familiar to the marque 4253cc six-cylinder engine as well as a new 2790cc six for economy-minded customers, the latter power unit dropped from the catalogue in 1973. Daimler versions were technically similar, though fronted by that marque's traditional fluted radiator grille.
This Jaguar Sovereign 4.2 first left the Coventry works in 1985, since when the right-hand drive saloon has had five previous owners, three of them from the same family. The four-door bodyshell is currently said to be good with very good paintwork, although the grey interior is in need of some attention. Both 4235cc six-cylinder engine and three-speed automatic transmission are reportedly in very good order and electrical equipment good. The 96,081 mileage displayed on the odometer when entered for the sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total from new. The MOT was only renewed in September so the certificate is valid for nine months.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
