Further Info:
Since acquiring legendary status via the `60s TV series `The Saint', the Volvo P1800 has become a rare and sought-after model, and `XRY 414J' is understood to be one of only 60 registered with the DVLA. It was purchased new from The Bedford Garage (Exeter) by hotelier George Archibald T Brown in February 1971, who clocked up 38,650 miles prior to selling the car to the vendor in March 1990. He added a further 7,000 miles attending classic vehicle shows etc before the engine seized and the Volvo was dry stored for 18 years. It is now virtually `as new' following a comprehensive restoration during which the car was treated to a professional respray as well as countless new parts. It is offered complete with original handbook, sales brochure, some service history, letters from the supplying garage and TV presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson, sundry tax discs, invoices, restoration photos and an MOT to December 2015.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
