Lot details Registration No: FNN644C Chassis No: HBJ8L30785 Mot Expiry: Jan 2015
'FNN 644C' started life as a Californian export model and was repatriated in 1998, at which point a documented restoration was carried out. The Healey was stripped and the chassis alignment checked. Inner and outer panels were refurbished or replaced and the whole structure shotblasted, etch primed and painted in Colorado Red. The brightwork was either replaced or replated. New road springs were fitted along with: swivel pins; steering column; wheel bearings; brake discs, pads and shoes. The Black interior trim was entirely renewed. The engine was overhauled and balanced, and the cylinder head gas flowed and converted for lead-free fuel. The gearbox was also reconditioned. In the last four years the hood and steering wheel have been replaced, the engine given a head-off check and the chassis/body examined for rust and resealed. A recent inspection and service by a Healey specialist apparently led him to declare the car 'very sound'.
