1990 Ferrari Mondial T

Lot details
Registration No: T.B.A.
Chassis No: ZFFKD32C000085417
Mot Expiry: June 2008

Introduced in March 1989, the Mondial t followed established Ferrari Formula 1 practice by positioning its 'transversale' gearbox and engine at 90-degrees to each other (a layout which not only lowered the 2+2 seater's centre of gravity but also gave improved weight distribution and handling). The only Mondial variant to feature a longitudinally-mounted engine, the 't' was also the fastest. Credited with developing some 300bhp and 238lbft of torque, its enlarged 3405cc 'quad-cam' V8 was kept in check by electronically adjustable all-round independent suspension, power steering and four-wheel ventilated ABS disc brakes. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and 158mph, the ultimate Mondial was visually distinguished by 'squared-off' radiator intake vents, rectangular 'pop up' headlamps and colour-coded door handles. Further benefiting from a revised interior complete with new dashboard layout, different switchgear and folding rear seats, the model remained in production until 1993 by which time some 840 coupes and 1,010 cabriolets are thought to have been made.

Finished in Chiaro Blue with tan leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "as new" condition with regard to its 3405cc engine, five-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis , bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres. Supplied new by Maranello to Mr S. Agace of Clapham on August 1st 1990, chassis '85417' entered the current ownership some four years later. Placed into storage during 1998, the coupe is warranted to have covered just 3,800 miles from new. Apparently the subject of "a service, cambelt change and fuel modifications" at the hands of Nigel Mansell Sportscars (March 1993), more recent work is said to have seen the coupe treated to "a service, cambelt change and extensive mechanical checkover by Dave Walton Specialist Cars Ltd" (May 2007). Riding on five-spoke alloys, this exceptionally low mileage Mondial t is offered for sale with "original invoices / paperwork" and MOT certificate valid until June 8th 2008.

PLEASE NOTE: The vendor has informed us that the personalised registration number worn by this vehicle is not included in the sale. As such, a prospective purchaser may have to make the vehicle available for inspection by the DVLA in order to facilitate the issuing of an age-related numberplate and new V5C Registration Document etc.

PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has covered some 3,800 miles from new. The figure of 3,500 miles which appeared in the printed catalogue was a typing error.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.

You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
