This one family owned and Coventry-built Daimler, a right-hand drive four-door, was specially ordered with rare manual transmission and overdrive in 1976 from Jaguar and Daimler main dealers Henlys of Chester. Since then, says the owner, the luxurious saloon has always been garaged and has only been lightly used with only Jaguar approved parts employed for repairs and services. Indeed, the 36,100 miles indicated on the odometer when entered for this sale is guaranteed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for NTU 868P from new.
The bodyshell, painted in Green Sand, is described as being in good condition and the interior trimmed in sand cloth also good, whilst the engine, Jaguar's celebrated and trusty XK 3.4-litre six-cylinder engine, and four-speed gearbox with desirable overdrive are both reportedly in good order too.
Unusually, this car comes with the original purchase invoice as well as full service history and documentation; the current MOT certificate being valid until August and the tax disc not requiring renewing until the end of November. We understand that the only reason that it is being auctioned today is because of the owner's business commitments and lack of time.
