Introduced in 1971, the 2000 Veloce was the quickest Alfa Romeo Spider yet. Equipped with all round independent suspension, disc brakes and a five-speed manual gearbox, it put the extra power and torque developed by its enlarged 1962cc four-cylinder 'twin-cam' engine to good use. Reputedly capable of over 120mph, it gained 'occasional use' rear seats in 1975 as part of a continual development program.
Finished in red with black leather upholstery, this particular right-hand drive example is described by the vendor as being in good condition with regard to its engine, gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres. Reportedly the subject of extensive renovation work during 2000 / 2001 which included a bare metal respray, renewed interior and fresh hood etc, this handsome Alfa was only imported to the UK from South Africa in Spring 2003. Believed but not warranted to have covered 99,357 km from new (approximately 62,000 miles), it is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until May 2006, road tax current until February 2006 and history file (refurbishment photographs / paperwork etc).
