This example of the 350cc Manx dates from the last year of production, although some were built up from parts by the factory during 1962 and '63. The 1961 machines still benefited from developments carried out by the factory, the majority of changes applying to the engine internals. The piston was lighter and fitted with a single Dykes ring in a shorter barrel. An Amal GP2 replaced the earlier variant and was mounted on a longer inlet tract which fed the engine, via a lightened inlet valve and larger port. The cycle parts, which had been received a new seat pan and fibreglass cowl with Perspex flyscreen the previous year now adopted a new oil tank with revised mountings and a modified rear fork pivot which reduced weight.
This machine is known to have competed in the 1968 Junior TT where it finished in 24th place ridden by rider number 89 J H Evans. It was restored during the early 1990's by a recognised specialist and has subsequently been sympathetically stored. It is accompanied by an original copy of the 1968 TT results.
