Lot details Registration No: JOK578N Chassis No: BA0745 Mot Expiry: July 2005
Launched in 1963, the A110 established the classic Alpine shape. Although available as a cabriolet, most owners opted for the coupe. Initially powered by the 1108cc 87bhp Renault R8 engine, by the time A110 production stopped in 1977, 180bhp power units were being used. Alpine became a part of Renault from 1974.
Offered here is an A110, a lefthand drive and rear-engined berlinette, which first left the Automobiles Alpine works in Dieppe in 1975. The French coupe is claimed to be a very nice example with chassis, 2-door bodywork in glassfibre, traditional Alpine blue paintwork and black vinyl interior trim rated as good. The modified 4-cylinder Renault engine of 1296cc capacity and 4-speed manual transmission in the tail are reportedly also in good order.
Following six years preservation in a Museum, the vendor says that the fixed head is likely to have been freshly MOT tested. Potential purchasers are therefore advised to check out the latest certificate in the paperwork file during viewing in our documents office at Buxton.
Renault Alpines, like this, are not only extremely good looking, but, thanks to the materials and readily-available Renault components employed in their construction, should also be entirely practical to own. he power to weight ratio and roadholding will impress as will the superior traction from having rear-engine/rear wheel drive, whilst the considerable motor sporting heritage gained by works team and privateer rally and race drivers is a bonus.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
