The Ford Mustang, the original 'Ponycar', was Detroit's single success of the 1960's and lifted Ford's 1965 model year production (the car was actually launched in 1964) by well over half a million units and set an all-time record for first year new models sales. Apparently demand exceeded supply by 15:1 which led dealers to auction new cars off as one thing was for certain - America loved the Mustang. Designed as a low-cost 'personal car' by Lee A. Iacocca, later the President of the Ford Motor Company, it was realistically the answer to peoples prayers because they had been pleading for the return of the Thunderbird since its demise in 1957. It came in hardtop coupe, fastback coupe and convertible forms right through until 1973 with the crisp notchback hardtop being the sales leader.
The name of Carroll Shelby is synonymous with the Ford Motor Company and suffice it to say that some of the most collectible cars on the planet bear his name and bearing in mind that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, well that's what we have here.
This sensational car is an original four speed 'A' code car that is now a recreation of a 1966 Shelby GT 350 with all the usual goodies. It is finished in Wimbledon white with Le Mans striping and is fitted with a Boss 302 V8 engine with the four speed manual transmission, bucket seats, tinted glass, magnum wheels, GT350 hood and side scoops and side stripe, wooden Cobra steering wheel, Cobra dashboard, taco, dual Shelby racing mirrors, racing belts, a fold down rear seat and a factory AM radio.
In superb condition it is one of the most exiting replicas we have seen and with the fast Boss 302 fitted it turns heads wherever it goes and is a 'real screamer'. Be prepared for the 'goosebumps' if you own this one and the lots of attention that come with it.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.

You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
