Additional Info:
According to a letter on file from the Alfa Romeo Owners' Club, chassis AR600753 was built as a Giulia Sprint GT (Type 105 02) on 18th December 1963. Sold new some thirteen days later in Catania - an ancient port city on Sicily's east coast - the four-seater subsequently migrated to Malta where it was converted to right-hand drive and visually updated to resemble a younger 1750 GTV model.
The current Alfa Romeo 'twin-cam' engine is a replacement unit that is thought to have been fitted around the same time. It is fed by twin Weber 40 DCOM carburettors and so is presumed to be of larger capacity (perhaps 1779cc or 1962cc?) than the 1570cc powerplant which the factory originally installed. Initially finished in Space Light Blue (traces of which are seemingly visible on the rear bulkhead), the Coupe has since been repainted Red and now presents as an older restoration.
H&H assisted in the Alfa Romeo's UK registration and it is now offered for sale with a V5C and MOT certificate valid until October 4th 2016.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
