In 1962, and following pre war practice of fitting 6-cylinder motors in hitherto 4-cylinder powered chassis, Triumph introduced their Vitesse with 1596cc 6-cylinder engine in a lengthened Herald frame, with similar body panels and modified front end incorporating four headlamps.

The Vitesse was built by Standard-Triumph from May 1962 to July 1971. The car was styled by Giovanni Michelotti, and was available in saloon and convertible variants and with a 1600cc engine then latterly with a 2000cc version. Overdrive was an optional extra which this car has fitted. The Vitesse presents well and comes with the hood and frame.
