Further info:
Succeeded by the Berlinetta Boxer, the Daytona was the last of Ferrari's many great front-engined sports cars. The model retains many admirers around the globe, and in 2004 Sports Car International magazine voted the 365 GTB/4 (to give the model its official title) their top car of the 1970s. Manufacture ran from 1968 to 1976, during which time a total of 1,406 Daytonas are understood to have been built - of which 122 were Spiders, and just seven were produced in righthand drive form. Not surprisingly this led to the creation of evocations, of which the Southern Roadcraft version is among the best known. The exciting example offered here is finished in the classic combination of Rosso Corsa body matched to Cream upholstery. It is powered by a Jaguar V12 engine coupled automatic transmission, rides on Cromodora-style five-spoke alloys shod with Pirelli P4000 tyres, and burbles through quad exhaust pipes. A real head turner.
