1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT

Sold for £41,062

(including buyers premium)

Lot details
Registration No: ANW504M
Chassis No: 06900
Mot Expiry: March 2005

This Dino 246GT, a righthand drive Pininfarina styled fixed head coupe first registered 1 November 1973, is immaculately finished in the far less common and very desirable combination of Blue Chiaro with beige leather.
When entered for this auction, just 31,000 miles were displayed on the odometer and this extremely low figure is thought by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for this GT from new. He also tells us that the MOT test certificate will have been renewed by sale day and interested clients are advised to check out this paperwork by consulting the car's history file in the documents office at Buxton.
On file, too, are a comprehensive collection of old bills, including one for £10,000 detailing major restoration work carried out in November 1999. Equally impressive is a run of ten former MOTs going back to the late 1980s substantiating the 26,000 low mileage then.
Owner at that time, one James Edward Kerry, put down the car's history known to him on paper, a copy of which is included in the paperwork. We learn that he became the third owner 11 September 1978 and a 1980 restoration included a complete body refurbishment and rebuild of the 2.4-litre 6-cylinder engine, the work being carried out by Woodvale Motors of Kirkburton, West Yorks. Regular maintenance was entrusted to local Ferrari specialists including JCT 600 and Italia Autosport, the same technician looking after the car at all of the garages.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.

You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
