Lot details Registration No: JHG369N Chassis No: GHDS-372032G Mot Expiry: Dec 2008
Finished in black with black upholstery, 'JHG 369N' is described by the vendor as being in "very good" condition with regard to its engine, five-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork. A standard B GT when it entered the current ownership some fourteen years ago, the MG is since said to have been treated to "an extensive bodywork restoration (new sills, doors, front wings and bonnet) bare metal respray, new interior fittings (carpets, seat coverings) and rewiring". Boasting copper fuel / brake lines, other mechanical fettling is understood to have included "a conversion to V8 power using a 3.5-litre engine and five-speed manual gearbox sourced from a Rover SD1". Carried out in 2000, the transplant apparently saw the car further benefit from "a MG C rear axle, brake system overhaul (cylinder, servo, callipers etc), electronic fuel pump, uprated propshafts, V8 radiator / Kenlowe fans, upgraded / lowered suspension and Lumenition electronic ignition". Although, we are informed that "all the work was professionally carried out at a cost in excess of £15,000", 'JHG 369N' is reported to have had "very little use since restored / converted to V8 power" and to have been "dry stored in a barn". Nicely presented, this MG B GT V8 Conversion is offered for sale with "a folder of receipts totalling circa £12,000" and MOT certificate valid until December 2008.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
