Launched in 1979, the 'F' version of Yamaha's dominant TZ350 production racer featured a whole raft of improvements. Built around a lightened, 'monoshock' frame complete with new box-section cantilever aluminium swing-arm and three-way adjustable front forks, it was clothed in a revised more aerodynamic fairing. Upgraded with a fresh '6-port' cylinder design, 'slipper' pistons, lighter conrods and 38mm Mikuni 'Powerjet' carburettors, its water-cooled twin-cylinder two-stroke engine developed an impressive 72bhp @ 11,000rpm. Reputed to weigh just 108kg in 'F' guise, the TZ350 was still the machine to beat when the FIM dropped the 350cc World Championship class in 1982.
Finished in white with red stripes and blue race number squares, this particular example has apparently been restored. Wearing factory correct wire-spoked wheels, it also benefits from Motoplat ignition.
