Lot 57 - 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL 280

1997 Mercedes-Benz SL 280

Lot details
Registration No: R803ACK
Chassis No: WDB1290582F155782
Mot Expiry: April 2006

When Mercedes-Benz bring out a new SL roadster, the model range is going to be around for a very long time. Not only will the SL remain virtually unchanged in dealer showrooms for several years, but also examples will be seen being driven and enjoyed on the roads of the world for many decades after that.
This SL280 first left the Mercedes-Benz factory in Germany in the autumn of 1997, since when the sporting Grand Tourer, a right-hand drive two-door with characteristic ribbed factory side skirts, has had only two owners who have ensured that full service history has been faithfully recorded.
The fully loaded specification certainly impresses with not only power-operated soft-top, but also a factory hardtop, full leather trim with works-supplied rear seat option, sports-mode automatic transmission, power-assisted steering, ABS brakes, BAS, ASR, air-bags, 18ins diameter alloys by marque specialists AMG, electrically-operated mirrors and windows, tinted glass and electrically-adjustable head restraints. Anti-theft measures included sensible flip-front radio-cassette with CD stacker and central-locking with M-B alarm.
According to the vendor, R803 ACK is rattle-free on the road and drives as well as it looks. The 2799cc six-cylinder engine and transmission are reportedly in good order, and the red paintwork as well as the black leather interior are also said to be in good condition. The 57,000 mileage displayed when entered for this sale is believed by him to be the genuine total for the car from new, while only just successfully MOT tested, the current certificate with the car will therefore be valid until April of next year.
PLEASE NOTE: The vendor has informed us that this car is a two owner and it comes with a full Mercedes service history, air conditioning, electric steering column and the mileage of 57,000 is correct from new.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
